The Maharashtra Assembly Elections are generating a lot of interest, especially with former allies now involved in a four-way face-off – BJP, Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP. All the parties are on a poll blitzkrieg to woo the voters, and outdoor and social media have emerged as two key media platforms for the major contenders in the fray. Political parties have gone for clean, uncluttered design and simple messages in Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra. Brand campaigns for the BJP and Congress are being jointly executed by Global Advertisers and Bright Outdoor. While Global Advertisers has executed the campaigns in Mumbai, Bright Outdoor has executed the campaigns in rest of Maharashtra. The campaigns have commenced in September-end.
Global Advertisers successfully braced the two parties’ objectives in the OOH arena, spread across all the prominent roads in Mumbai. The campaign was initiated in large format to gain optimum visibility.
Sanjeev Gupta, MD, Global Advertisers, remarks, “The Lok Sabha elections underlined the role that advertising in general and OOH in particular can play in an election campaign. All parties appear to have learned their lesson, because the age of posters with 50 leaders competing for attention is a thing of the past now. It is the time of projecting a single face on a larger-than-life cutout and simple, but well-thought out messages.”
